Elizabeth Pineda left two of her children with Samuel Rodriguez while she took her 11-year-old daughter to a birthday party.
Unfortunately, Mr. Rodriguez, a handyman, was also dealing drugs. While the children were in his care, he allegedly made a drug deal. He was caught.
Inexplicably, Ms. Pineda was also charged. "A narcotics cop named Vincent Esposito swore that Pineda told him she had lived in that basement apartment where the drugs were found. ... Pineda's lawyer presented bills, even her license that show she and her children live in a complex in Middle Village."
Ultimately, all criminal charges were dropped. But things are not back to normal for Elizabeth Pineda and her children, who are still in foster care. "She also has to appeal to get off the New York State Child Abuse and Neglect Registry."
