links for Dec 2014

As I mentioned in June 2014, I have decided to begin sharing links via a monthly post instead of posting each video story as I discover it. (I do welcome you to visit - & follow - WACPR on Scoop It, which will include links to news articles without videos.)

Julie Baumer: After Innocence from WUNC / The Story

"In 2003, Julie Baumer was caring for her infant nephew when she noticed he was acting strange. She took him to the hospital, where a CT scan revealed brain hemorrhaging and a skull fracture. What was actually a childhood stroke was mistaken for shaken baby syndrome, and Julie was sentenced to 15 years in prison for hurting the child. She was exonerated after six years and told her story to WUNC at the Innocence Network Conference in Charlotte in April 2013."
